Boston AL had the winning rally in the 8th inning plating 3 runs on 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Ted Williams was the sparkplug when he drewa walk. Rudy York stepped into the batter's box and he reached on an error.Bobby Doerr then lined a single. Doerr took second on the throw. Afteranother out, Hal Wagner came to the plate and lined a base-hit. Boston ALtotaled 7 hits on the night. The win was credited to Dick Mauney(2-2) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.Bob Klinger gained credit for his 33rd save. Dizzy Trout(14-11) absorbed theloss.
